We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Cook to join our team at The Salvation Army Eastern Territory. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our soup kitchen program.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise food preparation and cooking, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and accurate records.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and volunteers to achieve efficient service delivery.
- Comply with Salvation Army policies and procedures, as well as relevant health and safety regulations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food preparation, line cooking, and fry cooking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety regulations, with ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a standing position for extended periods.
