Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Northwell Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining fixtures, furniture, structural woodwork, interior and exterior masonry, and other building components using hand and power tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine repairs, maintenance, and installation of building components and equipment as directed.
  • Visually inspect and observe the operation of mechanical systems, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Perform detailed work from work orders as assigned, notifying the supervisor of materials needed for completion of the job.
  • Use equipment and tools properly, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience as a maintenance mechanic performing Journeymen's work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC installations.
  • Minimum of one (1) year Hospital work experience, required.
  • Possess a good knowledge of construction codes and standards.
  • Certificates of Instruction from the Department of Air Resources and a Certificate of Fitness from the NYC Fire Department are preferred.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate must be able to stand and work for prolonged periods, lift and move heavy materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 100 lbs, and have acceptable corrected visual acuity.

Salary and Benefits
