Maintenance Mechanic I

As a Maintenance Mechanic I at American Water Enterprises, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our water treatment facilities and related appurtenances. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including operating equipment and vehicles, maintaining accurate records and documents, and adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
Operate equipment and vehicles necessary for the completion of assignments
Maintain accurate records and documents
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety practices
Perform tasks within the capabilities of the employee based on experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training
Requirements
Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and computer theories, applications, and hardware configurations
Thorough understanding of the distribution system network, including gradients, capacities, interconnections, mapping, service territory, and facility locations
Commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements
Ability to pass a qualification examination developed by the Company
Ability to pass an initial and annual OSHA medical examination
Progression
The Maintenance Mechanic I will be required to progress to Maintenance Mechanic II within four years and will be required to meet the entrance requirements for Maintenance Mechanic II. Failure to achieve the skill level required to successfully complete the Level II examination within the specified time period may result in termination of employment.
