About the Position
The University of Alabama's College of Education is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Elementary Mathematics Education. This is a tenure-track position that requires a strong research agenda and a commitment to teaching excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses focused on elementary mathematics education
- Conduct research in mathematics education and publish in top-tier journals
- Collaborate with colleagues to pursue external funding opportunities
- Advise and mentor graduate students
- Engage in professional service to the department, university, and professional organizations
Requirements
- Doctorate in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field with a mathematics education focus
- Demonstrated professional experience working with elementary students
- Ability to pursue a research agenda with potential for external funding
- Ability to teach university courses focused on elementary mathematics education
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage in professional service
