Position Summary:
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at the University of Alabama is seeking a full-time, clinical assistant professor of elementary education (grades PreK-6) generalist. The University of Alabama is a Research I institution with considerable emphasis on recruiting productive scholars and effective instructors. This is a nine-month, non-tenure earning position with a contract of three years, eligible for renewal.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Elementary Education program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and interns
- Provide service within the University, to state and local education agencies, and to relevant professional organizations
- Collaborate in elementary schools through partnership activities
Requirements:
- Earned Doctorate in Elementary Education, or Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Elementary Education
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Elementary Education program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction
- Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and interns
- Ability to provide service within the University, to state and local education agencies, and to relevant professional organizations
- Demonstrated potential to collaborate in elementary schools through partnership activities
