Senior Real Estate Attorney/Partner

Goodspeed Merrill (GM) is on the lookout for a Senior Real Estate Attorney/Partner to spearhead its expanding real estate division. The ideal candidate will possess a valid license to practice in Colorado, have over 10 years of pertinent real estate expertise, and demonstrate a strong commitment to leadership and exceptional client service. A transferable client portfolio is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects promptly and professionally
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Meet monthly and annual billing hour targets
  • Achieve Effective Rate objectives consistently
  • Generate new client referrals annually to drive growth for the Practice and Firm
  • Establish and uphold team policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of relevant real estate experience; lateral partner level preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial acquisitions and dispositions, including title and survey evaluations, easement agreements, and commercial leasing (office, warehouse, and retail)
  • Experience in land use, multi/planned use development, and entitlement processes
  • Proficient in drafting covenants, commercial development agreements, and construction contracts
  • Knowledge of secured real estate financing agreements
  • A willingness to grow, lead, and mentor a practice group
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience to effectively plan and achieve goals with creativity and flexibility, while managing various tasks under the general supervision of senior attorneys.
  • Exceptional drafting and analytical skills, with the ability to develop, assess, and implement effective solutions.
  • A determined, professional, knowledgeable, and proactive attorney.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of growing a Real Estate practice.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The salary range for this role is $150,000-$200,000 based on experience, accompanied by an attractive bonus structure. Senior attorneys are eligible for bonuses after achieving 1,500 billable hours, allowing time for business development.
