Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen staff, including training and development of team members.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of food, ensuring high-quality dishes are delivered promptly.
  • Coordinate kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and supply chain logistics.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Monitor and control kitchen expenses, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement kitchen policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, train, and develop lead cooks to perform similar tasks in the Executive Chef's absence.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of culinary education or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of food preparation principles and practices.
  • Proficient knowledge of human resources management and inventory control.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Availability to work on call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays.
  • Ability to stand or walk for 10-hour shifts and lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Will be required to have Texas-approved Food Manager certification.
