ROLE SUMMARY

The Educator is responsible for fostering and enhancing the social, emotional, physical, linguistic, and cognitive growth of young children. This role involves creating a secure and engaging educational environment both indoors and outdoors, setting individualized objectives for each child, continuously assessing their progress, and aiding their transition into formal education. Additionally, the Educator will actively involve parents in their child's development and is expected to pursue a professional growth plan, which may include obtaining relevant academic qualifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver direct educational instruction to a designated group of children.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness for each child.
  • Tailor educational strategies based on initial assessments conducted upon each child's entry into the program.
  • Supervise and participate in educational excursions.
  • Engage in mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
  • May require travel with unaccompanied minors to various locations as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or a related field focusing on Infant and Toddler Development.
  • A minimum of two years of proven experience as an educator or caregiver for infants and toddlers.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications.
  • Valid Florida State Teacher Certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and liability insurance.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with Early Childhood Education frameworks and standards.
  • Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Master's degree in Education is advantageous.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The role requires the ability to see and hear effectively, as well as the dexterity to complete necessary documentation. Physical demands include lifting children weighing up to 40 pounds, lifting overhead up to 20 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. The position may require sitting on the floor, bending, kneeling, or stooping frequently.

COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate: $25.70
