Job Description

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Contract and Administration Unit Lead to join its team. This role will coordinate all large payments and large contract procurement activities for the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate large payments and contract procurement activities for the Bureau
  • Directly supervise a team of seven analysts and follow up weekly on aging payment reports, subcontract approvals, and timely reports
  • Responsible for submission of yearly performance evaluations and assist in hiring actions for the unit
  • Assist in monitoring contract compliance and receive, review, and process contract verifications for compliance
  • Provide administrative support to the Section Chief of Contracting and Administration and serve as point of contact for program staff
  • Coordinate and perform professional-level administrative work in procurement and contract administration
  • Attend and lead various meetings, including pre-bid and post-bid debriefings, and follow up with unit action items
  • Maintain accurate records and files and develop storage of records and retention schedules
  • Submit and approve contract actions in PASSport
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of full-time, satisfactory professional, technical, or administrative experience in one or more of the following fields: program evaluation, contract negotiations/management, business or public administration, contract community relations, or related fields
  • At least eighteen months of administrative, managerial, or executive experience or experience supervising professional personnel performing work in program evaluation, contract negotiation/management, business or public administration
