Keke's Breakfast Cafe is seeking a Culinary Specialist for our St. Augustine location.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Culinary Specialist will be responsible for the precise and efficient preparation of food items, as well as the portioning of ingredients prior to cooking. Additional responsibilities include various tasks related to food preparation and presentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares a diverse range of food items using various cooking equipment such as grills, broilers, stovetops, waffle makers, Panini presses, and fryers.
  • Takes ownership of the quality of all food products prepared and served.
  • Consistently adheres to standard portion sizes, cooking techniques, quality benchmarks, and kitchen protocols.
  • Ensures adequate stock levels of food products at workstations to facilitate smooth service.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workspace, including all cooking and refrigeration equipment.
  • Follows proper plating and garnishing techniques for all dishes.
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all food products appropriately.
  • Assists with food preparation tasks during slower periods as necessary.
  • Properly opens and closes the kitchen, following the established closing procedures for kitchen stations.
  • Participates in routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or supervisor on duty.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills in the primary language of our guests.
  • Exemplary personal grooming standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm every day, including holidays.
  • Full-time candidates must prioritize Keke's as their main employment.
  • All employees are required to wear dark blue jeans with a black belt and black non-slip shoes on their first day.
  • Keke's must be your primary place of employment.
