Position Overview:
In this role, you will operate under general supervision to assist clients in navigating local and state-funded healthcare options. Your primary responsibilities will include guiding clients through the enrollment process and addressing any complex issues or inquiries they may have.

This position is classified as Hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct professional interviews with applicants to gather essential demographic and household information for screening healthcare coverage eligibility.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and documentation by collecting, verifying, and scanning necessary documents into the eligibility database in accordance with established policies.
  • Apply eligibility criteria to assess client qualifications and facilitate enrollment into suitable local and grant programs, as well as assist with applications for state and federal health coverage.
  • Monitor enrollment processes and resolve issues related to state program applications as needed.
  • Provide information and education to clients regarding program benefits through various communication channels.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Be available for occasional weekend shifts to support the Eligibility Call Center.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations and capable of applying mathematical methods to solve problems.
  • Ability to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and standards using sound judgment.
  • Skilled in working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with administrative procedures, office systems, and terminology.
  • Knowledge of interviewing techniques and proper etiquette.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and analyze information to determine optimal solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, tailored to the audience's needs.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate activities and respond to others' actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of performing basic operations.
  • Active listening skills and a willingness to assist others while building effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift focus between different activities as required.
  • Competence in following established rules and procedures to maintain order and logical operations.
  • Use of deductive reasoning to apply general rules to specific scenarios for logical problem-solving.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for those who have assisted clients with state or federal program applications. Fluency in Spanish is also preferred.
