Key Responsibilities:
  • Greeting and Check-In: Greet patients in a polite and professional manner, provide necessary instructions and directions for check-in and check-out processes.
  • Phone and Communication: Answer phone calls in a pleasant manner, deal with customer needs expeditiously, and maintain good customer service.
  • Patient Data Management: Complete necessary paperwork, update patient demographic information, collect co-pays, and obtain signatures as necessary.
  • Insurance and Billing: Verify and update insurance, ensure patients are in-network and eligible at time of service, collect balances, deductibles, and co-pays.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule lab appointments, AWVs, and follow-up appointments, and prepare bank deposits and reconciliation at the end of the day.
  • Office Maintenance: Maintain a clean and orderly waiting area, including work area and bathrooms, and complete photocopying, computer input/typing, and mail sorting.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience in customer service setting, preferably six months receptionist experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: 50 wpm typing skill preferred, ability to communicate clearly, organize and prioritize tasks effectively, and multitask.
  • Abilities: Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Working Conditions:

Office setting, well-ventilated and well-lit. Requires sitting for 7-8 hours/day, eye-hand coordination, and finger dexterity.
