About the Role

The Front Desk Supervisor is a key member of our hotel team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth guest experience. As a leader in the front office, you will be responsible for guiding and supporting our front desk staff to deliver consistent quality service.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with guests and staff to resolve issues and provide solutions
• Monitor lobby traffic and adjust staffing levels accordingly
• Greet guests warmly and efficiently, ensuring a positive first impression
• Process guest registrations, including inputting and retrieving information from our computer system
• Promote our hotel's marketing program and make recommendations to guests
• Handle cash, make change, and balance the house bank
• Accept and record vouchers, traveler's checks, and other forms of payment
• Convert foreign currency at current posted rates
• Perform accurate arithmetic functions using a calculator
• Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer
• Answer telephones promptly and professionally
• Retrieve messages and communicate their content to guests
• Retrieve mail, small packages, and facsimiles for hotel guests as requested
• Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity
• Resolve customer complaints and complications by conducting thorough research and offering effective solutions

Requirements

• High school diploma required; some college preferred
• No prior experience required, but two years of combined front desk and supervisory experience is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Basic mathematical skills required
• Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
• Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform behind the front desk
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
