About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at Dairy Farmers of America. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing activities related to recruiting and onboarding, employee engagement, learning and development, compensation, benefits, payroll, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and HR compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the recruitment efforts for hourly and professional employees in assigned locations, serving as a primary resource for hiring managers in their recruitment and staffing efforts.
- Develop and execute the orientation and onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a seamless transition into the company.
- Facilitate talent management initiatives to drive engagement, build business capabilities, and enhance retention, aligning with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership in the execution of HR processes, practices, and policies, partnering with leaders to ensure effective implementation.
- Communicate HR practices and procedures to leaders and support them in executing performance activities, compensation tasks, and corrective actions.
- Develop recommendations for HR process improvement, analyzing data and making informed decisions to drive business results.
- Provide employee relations support for leaders in assigned locations, handling challenging situations with tact and professionalism.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
- Provide solutions and training recommendations to people leaders and employees, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
- Support and track employee engagement action planning, participating in employee engagement team meetings and activities.
- Create and provide people analytics to the business, including position control tracking, recruiting/hiring reports, turnover reports, exit feedback, and tracking of performance/compensation tasks.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience); a Master's degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive generalist human resources experience with leadership attributes or supervisory experience.
- Experience with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Certification and/or License – Human Resources certifications are preferred (e.g., PHR/SPHR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources principles, concepts, and practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with federal, state, and local HR and payroll requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems.
- Able to analyze data and make decisions based on all relevant information, building recommendations and solving problems.
- Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
