The Salesforce Solutions Engineer role involves collaboration with a team of Salesforce Developers, Administrators, Configuration Managers, and various departments within the organization. This position focuses on the technical facets of Salesforce, encompassing data migration/integration, data integrity, systems integration, and custom development.
  • Must be available to work on-site (Hybrid remote schedule available)

Key Responsibilities of the Salesforce Solutions Engineer

  • Implement Salesforce permission sets, data flows, and APEX custom coding.
  • Develop using Visualforce, APEX, and other technologies to create custom solutions for a student information system in higher education and military contexts.
  • Provide technical leadership, adhering to best practices in integration and application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems), and iterative improvement.
  • Define, communicate, and manage a change management (release) process for developing and implementing new applications/code and updates to existing applications/code.
  • Comply with standards and policies established by the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD).

Required Skills for the Salesforce Solutions Engineer

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of prior development experience with Salesforce (Certified Salesforce Developer preferred).
  • Comprehensive understanding of Salesforce architecture and API.
  • Extensive experience in writing Visualforce and Apex classes and triggers.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle relational databases.
  • Proven success with multiple Salesforce migration/integration projects.
  • Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, leadership, and technical teams.
