What you will be doing:
  • Developing software applications and subsystems to enhance software reuse and domain analysis while overseeing their execution.
  • Overseeing software engineering and support through formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and other recognized design methodologies and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
  • Estimating software development budgets and timelines.
  • Evaluating existing software solutions and assisting in refining processes to enhance efficiency and optimize techniques.
  • Defining and articulating specifications for software solutions or modifying and maintaining current applications utilizing engineering releases and utilities from the vendor.
  • Accountable for program architecture, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Guiding, directing, and reviewing the work of other team members.
  • Responsible for quality assurance assessments and evaluating both existing and new software products.
  • Enhancing, modifying, and testing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) solutions to ensure compatibility with existing systems.
  • Coordinating and scheduling testing, integration, implementation, and deployment activities with external stakeholders.
  • Implementing security measures across the organization. Installing hardware and software to ensure a fully operational computing environment.
  • Providing training on newly deployed security tools to authorized users.
  • Continuously monitoring the performance and status of security tools through IT system management. Maintaining and upgrading systems to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Conducting database management to oversee, report, and rectify any system performance issues.
  • Analyzing newly identified vulnerabilities within the security tool suite and performing gap assessments.
  • Researching and evaluating commercial solutions to address identified vulnerabilities as directed.
  • Conducting alternative analyses and presenting findings to management for evaluation and decision-making.
  • Collaborating with various departments to procure, deliver, and manage new hardware and software required for solution implementation.
  • Preparing configuration plans and software enhancement strategies to facilitate seamless integration with user interfaces.
  • Designing and implementing access controls as part of system and service solutions.
Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Experience/Education:
  • All experience and education must be in a technical field directly related to the labor category being proposed, with all diplomas, GED certificates, and degrees from accredited institutions.
    • Nine (9) years minimum experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
    • Seven (7) years minimum experience with an Associate's Degree.
    • Five (5) years minimum experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
    • Three (3) years minimum experience with a Master's Degree.
    • One (1) year minimum experience with a Doctorate's Degree.
Physical Demands:

This role is primarily sedentary; however, some filing is required, necessitating the ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as needed.
