Key Responsibilities
  • Lead traffic engineering initiatives from planning through execution, mentoring project staff on technical matters.
  • Oversee the creation of traffic studies and permitting processes for both internal and external projects.
  • Support proposal development, client presentations, and relationship management.
  • Maintain strong connections with clients and regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and construction drawings in accordance with industry standards.
  • Analyze traffic data, including volumes, crash statistics, and active transportation metrics. Conduct intersection and roadway evaluations using tools like Synchro and SimTraffic.
  • Monitor existing traffic signal systems through our in-house Traffic Monitoring Center, providing essential services to municipalities.
  • Manage construction administration for traffic signal design projects.
  • Facilitate project meetings and presentations.
Qualifications

We recognize that candidates bring diverse experiences and skills. If you possess some or all of the following qualifications, we encourage you to reach out:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Traffic or Transportation Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required
  • PTOE and IMSA certifications are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, and MicroStation or AutoCAD; VISSIM experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with state or federal transportation agencies is beneficial but not essential
