Job Title: IT Computer Support Specialist

Job Summary:
The PC Specialist position at Mile Bluff Medical Center provides technical assistance to computer users. This role involves answering questions or resolving computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically. The ideal candidate will have expert proficiency with computers, including Microsoft applications, and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily performance of computer systems
• Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems
• Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors
• Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software
• Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications
• Record information in help ticket so it can be used for problem solving in the future
• Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service
• Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software
• Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications
• Monitor Network closets for port availability. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
• Communicate with telecommunication vendors to resolve issues with service
• Support phone software and hardware, configure phones. Voicemail set up and concerns, password resets
• Cover Help Desk duties when staff are on vacation or ill

Requirements:
• Associates or Bachelors degree in a related area, required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of education
• 3+ years of related work experience preferred
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required
• Expert proficiency with computers is required, including Microsoft applications
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
