Position Overview: We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Retail Construction Project Leader to oversee ground-up construction initiatives with project values between $2M and $6M. In this capacity, you will manage the complete lifecycle of our new construction endeavors (handling 4 to 10 projects concurrently), from the initial planning and design stages through to the successful completion of construction. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of effectively delivering new construction retail projects with extensive knowledge in ground-up development, coupled with exceptional project management and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee the planning, design, and execution of ground-up construction projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards. Create and maintain project timelines, financial plans, and resource allocation strategies to ensure project success. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective project strategies and plans. Regularly assess project designs, plans, and specifications to identify potential challenges and offer optimization recommendations. Supervise and coordinate construction activities, including site preparation, foundational work, structural development, and all related tasks. Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and proactively address any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction phase. Conduct routine site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and project specifications. Work closely with the procurement team to manage the sourcing of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions. Prepare and present regular project status updates to senior management and stakeholders, effectively communicating progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to ground-up construction, applying this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related discipline. (PREFERRED) Proven experience in successfully delivering ground-up construction projects, including new developments. (PREFERRED) 5-10 years of experience in project management or construction (REQUIRED) Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, entitlements, building codes, regulations, and industry standards. (REQUIRED) Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to effectively manage cross-functional project teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and results-driven approach. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders. Estimated total compensation range for this position is:
95,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD per yearThe compensation range provided is an estimate and not guaranteed. The final offer will be based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
