As the Regional Manager of Patient Access at Thomas Jefferson University, you will oversee the efficient and effective functioning of patient access services across multiple facilities within our healthcare system. Your leadership will ensure that registration, insurance verification, patient liability collections, and customer service are delivered with the highest standards of quality, compliance, and patient satisfaction.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals. You will work closely with departmental leaders, staff members, and other stakeholders to uphold high standards of quality, compliance, and patient satisfaction. Your expertise in healthcare regulations, billing practices, and insurance requirements will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of patient access services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic direction and leadership to the patient access teams within assigned regions.
  • Recruiting, training, mentoring, and supervising departmental leadership staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Overseeing all aspects of patient access services, including registration, insurance verification, patient liability collections, and customer service.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborating with IT and other departments to leverage technology solutions for streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.
  • Championing a patient-centered approach to care, prioritizing empathy, respect, and responsiveness in all patient interactions.
  • Appraising staff performance, addressing complaints, and resolving issues.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field. In lieu of degree, a minimum of 11 years of experience managing staff in patient access, physician practice management, revenue cycle management, or healthcare administration is preferred. A Master's degree and HFMA certifications are also desirable.
