Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. As a Registered Dietitian in our Acute Care department, you will play a critical role in providing patient-centered nutrition care to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Identify Nutrition Risks: Utilize hospital protocol to identify patients at risk of malnutrition and develop individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Conduct Nutrition Assessments: Perform age-specific nutrition assessments, including nutrition-focused physical assessments, to identify patients at risk of malnutrition.
  • Develop and Implement Nutrition Care Plans: Provide evidence-based nutrition interventions and initiate individualized nutrition care plans using the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Nutrition Care Process.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Patient Progress: Continuously monitor and evaluate patient progress to ensure nutritional goals are being met.
  • Provide Education and Support: Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic diets, assess learning needs, and provide education based on patient preferences and learning styles.
  • Document Patient Care: Document assessments, reassessments, and care plans in the electronic medical record using standardized nutrition care process.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement: Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance nutrition services and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics or related field and completion of a dietetic internship.
  • Certification: Registered Dietitian (RD) status and/or successful completion of the national registration examination (RD) within 120 days of hire.
  • Skills: Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
