Job Title: Patient Registration Specialist

ProMedica is seeking a highly skilled Patient Registration Specialist to join our team at Monroe Regional Hospital. As a Patient Registration Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients receiving medical services in our clinic, laboratory, inpatient, outpatient, or emergency department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register and pre-register patients, obtaining demographic information and validating insurance coverage.
  • Utilize electronic insurance verification systems to determine copay and/or coinsurance for patient services.
  • Communicate with patients via phone to gather necessary information for registration and billing purposes.
  • Assist patients with general benefit and financial responsibility inquiries, and post payments to patient accounts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records, adhering to regulatory requirements and departmental standards.
  • Collaborate with management to resolve issues affecting registration timeliness and quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with insurance requirements and communicate changes to management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience with computers and office applications.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
