Position Title: Canvass Manager

Reporting Structure: Reports to the State Lead

Compensation: $60,000 to $66,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-time, exempt
Work Schedule: Full-time (40+ hours per week, with potential for 70+ hours during peak periods)

Location: Onsite

Role Summary

Shawmut Services is looking for driven individuals to fill the role of Canvass Manager for a dynamic canvassing initiative aimed at mobilizing Democratic voters for upcoming elections. Canvass Managers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing a team of canvassers who will engage with voters in their local communities. They will collaborate closely with the Project Director and Operations team to achieve ambitious recruitment, training, and canvassing objectives.

This is a full-time, salaried position requiring self-motivated individuals who excel in problem-solving and can effectively manage a diverse team from various backgrounds. Comprehensive training will be provided to new hires, and we encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of previous campaign experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside project leadership to execute an innovative door-to-door canvassing strategy in your designated area.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise canvassers, including conducting pre-packet briefings, virtual office hours, and post-packet debriefings.
  • Collaborate with the Training Director to develop, refine, and enhance the training program.
  • Be prepared to work extended hours, with expectations of 6-day, 60-hour work weeks during peak periods, including evenings and weekends.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Access to a reliable internet connection, computer, and mobile phone.
  • Strong commitment to mobilizing Democratic voters.
  • Familiarity with VoteBuilder and MiniVAN is preferred.
  • Experience in managing volunteers or paid canvassers is a plus.
