Job Overview

PACE is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the collection process, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive relationships with our clients.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with excellent communication and negotiation skills. You should have a strong understanding of collection laws and regulations and be able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are paramount in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the collection process and work to reduce outstanding debts
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements with clients
  • Update client records and maintain accurate documentation of communication and payment history
  • Resolve billing and payment discrepancies
  • Review financial statements and assess client creditworthiness
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve client inquiries and disputes
  • Process lien releases
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in finance or related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of collection laws and regulations
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database software
  • Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism
