Position: Senior Financial Analyst - US Card - Mainstreet Finance

Company Overview: Capital One is on the lookout for a dedicated professional to fill the role of Senior Financial Analyst within our Card Finance team. This position offers the chance to collaborate with a dynamic finance group that supports our Mainstreet portfolio. By engaging with the largest Profit & Loss (P&L) at Capital One, you will have the opportunity to merge in-depth analytics with impactful storytelling, often presenting insights to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and P&L management.
  • Work closely with system analysts to enhance and maintain systems that support financial models.
  • Gather and validate input data from various departments, ensuring data integrity, summarizing, and converting data for analysis.
  • Assist in creating business presentations to effectively communicate analytical findings to senior audiences.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests and special projects as needed.
  • Independently prioritize and manage workload effectively.
  • Perform detailed financial data analysis to prepare P&L statements and other financial reports.
  • Regularly generate reports for senior associates.
  • Update management and business clients on project statuses.
  • Support reporting and analysis for presentations and ad-hoc requests.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in financial analysis.
  • At least 1 year of experience in financial modeling.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent military experience.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Possession of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial modeling.
  • 1+ year of experience in technology or financial services.
  • 1+ year of experience collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python is a plus.
