Role Responsibilities:

The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering direct care to residents under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Administer physical therapy interventions as outlined in resident treatment plans.
  • Support the Physical Therapist during assessments and advanced treatment techniques.
  • Monitor and document resident responses and progress, reporting findings to the supervising therapist.
  • Maintain accurate treatment records and progress notes as directed.
  • Assist in the initial assessment of new residents.
  • Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to optimize care.
  • Ensure the upkeep of therapy equipment and departmental organization.
  • Participate in training sessions and departmental meetings as required.
  • Engage in ongoing education to stay current in the field.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and professional standards.
  • Contribute to team discussions regarding resident care and needs.
  • Follow facility policies and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Understand various payer reimbursement structures and manage therapy resources effectively.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Uphold the company’s dedication to compassionate care and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Work independently while recognizing when supervision is necessary.
  • Meet expected productivity levels as discussed for your role.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Preferred experience in a similar care setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow directions and adhere to facility protocols.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform essential tasks safely, including:

  • Standing: Prolonged periods on feet.
  • Pushing: Moving objects with force, up to 35 lbs.
  • Lifting: Raising objects, up to 50 lbs independently.
  • Stooping: Bending forward for extended durations.
  • Reaching: Extending arms in various directions.
  • Balancing: Maintaining stability on uneven surfaces.
