Position Overview:
The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant (RTA) is responsible for implementing a prescribed care plan for patients while working closely with the Physical Therapist throughout the treatment process.

The RTA may assist in formulating treatment strategies, perform routine tasks, document patient progress, and adjust specific interventions based on patient conditions, all within the guidelines established by the supervising Physical Therapist.


CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare professionals to assess and evaluate patient data for effective treatment planning and coordination.
  • Guide, motivate, and support patients during their exercise routines or functional tasks, monitoring their responses and progress to report back to the Physical Therapist.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and proper recordkeeping.
  • Exemplify the core values of FOX Rehabilitation in all professional interactions.
  • Follow established policies and expectations across all divisions to promote high-quality communication, operational efficiency, safety, and patient care.

DOCUMENTATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to ensure timely submission of all required clinical documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Comply with all relevant regulations set by third-party payers.
  • Implement policies related to patient intake, tracking logs, and clinical documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with chart audit standards as outlined in the Clinical Documentation Audit Procedure SOP.
  • Complete annual compliance training modules by designated deadlines.
  • Understand and adhere to state-specific workflow and supervision regulations for PTAs.

COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL:
  • Adhere to the communication structure established by the organization.
  • Regularly check and respond to all forms of communication as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist and internal policies.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the supervising clinician, including at least weekly check-ins.
  • Respond promptly to all internal memos within the specified timeframe.
  • Follow policies regarding paid time off, including coordinating coverage and communicating essential information to the covering clinician.
  • Contact emergency contacts for all patient referrals as per FOX Rehabilitation policy.
  • Engage with community referrals within the expected timeframe to meet practice standards.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions and regional staff meetings.

Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice. Additional requirements include:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Annual TB test certification.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance for travel to patient locations.
  • Fit To Work certification from a licensed medical doctor.
