Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the deployment of FTTH projects across the USA. This role requires strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion. The Project Manager will work closely with upper management to plan and execute projects, and will be responsible for supervising construction and administration teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the deployment, execution, and closeout of FTTH projects in rural, residential, and metropolitan areas.
  • Lead a team of in-house crews and subcontractors to ensure successful project completion.
  • Manage project budgets, milestones, timelines, and scope of work to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement cost containment and cost savings measures to increase profitability.
  • Provide regular project metrics and insights to senior management, including production, financials, and timeline.
  • Track, review, and approve daily production reports from in-house and subcontractor teams.
  • Perform onsite surveys and coordinate field meetings to ensure projects meet delivery and commitment dates.
  • Meet with clients to review project scope, set expectations, and ensure positive communication.
  • Ensure safety and quality control policies are met on a daily basis.
  • Manage relationships with customers, city officials, jurisdictional authorities, utility representatives, and the general public.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred, PMP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of FTTH/telecommunications experience, with a minimum of 10 years as a project manager.
  • Ability to manage the total project life cycle from initial design to closeout and invoicing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze, comprehend, and present complex information in various forms.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, DWG drawings, and project management software.
  • Experience managing large projects with various resources, including subcontractors and in-house teams.
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and promote high-quality talent.
  • Experience in project schedules, cost engineering, budgeting, forecasting costs, status reports, procurement, and negotiation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and extrapolate construction/engineering drawings, records, route maps, specifications, scopes of work, testing/QC, and auditing projects for compliance to SOW and contractual obligations.
  • Ability to accurately forecast resource needs based on production models with proper assumptions.
  • Advanced knowledge of public rights of way and deployments, including maintenance of traffic.
  • Possess a 'Safety First' attitude and strict adherence to safety procedures.
  • Building and construction knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures.
  • Valid driver's license, pass an MVR check, and ability to drive as required to assigned projects.
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings when needed.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
