Job Overview

Position Summary:

As a Senior Configuration Management Specialist, you will oversee the configuration management (CM) processes for both developmental and operational systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enforce hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with developmental and operational teams to develop and sustain configuration baselines across various environments (development, testing, production, etc.).
  • Recommend and utilize automated CM tools to enforce CM policies and procedures effectively.
  • Craft or adjust CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the systems involved, ensuring CM discipline throughout the entire lifecycle from initial requirements to system retirement.
  • Conduct change control and configuration audits to maintain integrity.
  • Employ configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, Eclipse) for the storage, tracking, and management of configuration items.
  • Document hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures thoroughly.
  • Maintain and enhance the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Define and implement robust hardware and software configuration management processes, including the creation of product build scripts and their integration into the overall build process.
  • Serve as a consultant to the Government Change Control Board (CCB) as a non-voting member.
  • Ensure adherence to hardware and software version control processes throughout development projects.
  • Manage and refine the CM environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing, and integration.
  • Work autonomously to define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes, ensuring seamless integration with the build process.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field from an accredited institution is required. A Master's degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience, reducing the total experience requirement to six (6) years. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional CM experience may replace a bachelor's degree.

A minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Configuration Manager in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is essential.

At least one (1) year of experience with a source code control system in a developmental program of similar scope and complexity is required.

Security Clearance: An active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is mandatory for consideration.
