About the Role

Samaritas is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Welfare Case Manager to join our team in the Detroit area. As a key member of our foster care services team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide social work and case management services for assigned cases, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Assume primary responsibility for all cases on assigned caseload, providing a range of case management services, including social casework, engagement, mentoring, and community referral.
  • Collect, assess, and document client progress, completing documentation, reports, statistics, and assignments within required time frames.
  • Work collaboratively with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals with pertinent roles in client's life situation.
  • Prepare for and attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload.
  • Take primary responsibility for intake and initial placement services for all newly referred cases, coordinating placement arrangements with caregivers as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human service field.
  • Licensed by the State of Michigan preferred.
  • One year experience in child welfare, preferred.
  • Unrestricted valid driver's license with good driving record and reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served.
