About the Role

Samaritas is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foster Care Case Manager to join our team in the Detroit area. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing social work and case management services to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services, including social casework, engagement, mentoring, and community referral.
  • Collect, assess, and document client progress, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals to support clients' needs.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, advocating for clients' best interests.
  • Coordinate placement arrangements, including transportation of children as needed.
  • Provide intensive supportive casework services to children, birth families, and caregivers during initial placement and replacement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related human service field.
  • Licensure by the State of Michigan is preferred.
  • One year of experience in child welfare, preferred.
  • Unrestricted valid driver's license with a good driving record and reliable personal transportation.
