We seek a seasoned multi-line underwriter to join our package team, focusing on enhancing our insurance programs. Your primary responsibilities will include underwriting middle-market and large accounts and cultivating relationships with brokers and carriers to help The Ladders build a profitable portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily underwriting operations
  • Meet objectives for new business premiums, renewal retention, and rate adjustments
  • Propose innovative solutions regarding rating and coverage to support quality insureds
  • Collaborate with the team to manage clerical and administrative duties as per established workflows
  • Maintain underwriting documentation in line with company policies and procedures
  • Make informed decisions regarding risk selection
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting standards, objectives, and program guidelines
  • Implement updates to written program protocols as necessary
  • Build and sustain effective business relationships with agents and carriers to attract and retain profitable business
  • Comprehend all programs and products offered to effectively advocate within the agency community
  • Proactively manage programs to achieve production targets
Qualifications & Skills
  • 2-4 years of progressive experience in underwriting package lines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team

  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning capabilities

  • Organizational skills with the ability to multitask and solve problems

Compensation Package

The salary range for this role is competitive, with opportunities for performance-based bonuses. The final offer will consider various factors, including geographic location, relevant experience, and skill set. This position may also qualify for an annual incentive program.
