About IPSD

Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) is responsible for the design, testing, and manufacturing of engines ranging from 0.5 to 18L. These engines power not only Caterpillar machinery but also over 5000 diverse applications, including marine, petroleum, industrial uses, electric generators, and locomotives. Our corporate strategy prioritizes sustainability, and IPSD is actively engaged in developing green energy solutions for the future.

Position Summary:

As a Logistics Coordinator II, you will be integral to our logistics operations, assisting in the seamless management of shipping and receiving activities. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately documenting and processing inventory adjustments utilizing advanced tools and software, all while ensuring a safe working environment.

In this stimulating position, you will report to section managers and collaborate across various departments to fulfill both customer and organizational requirements. Key Responsibilities:
  • Pick and label materials according to ordered quantities.
  • Load and unload inventory onto trucks.
  • Execute SAP transactions.
  • Leverage SAP knowledge for daily operations.
  • Assist in inventory management and accuracy.
  • Generate and finalize IPLs and miscellaneous IPLs as necessary.
  • Operate assigned powered industrial trucks in your designated area.
  • Provide coverage for other team members as needed.
  • Train new team members as required.
  • Complete necessary tasks to ship and receive products.
  • Be accountable for functional area PQVC metrics.
  • Adhere to facility safety protocols.
  • Ship and receive components.
  • Verify invoices to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure that received and delivered materials are free from quality defects.
  • Repack and organize parts for warehouse storage or delivery to the assembly area.
  • Operate PIT equipment (e.g., tuggers, pack mules, sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts) to transport materials within the facility.
  • Submit and assist in resolving CPS Continuous Improvement cards.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and area-specific work instructions.
  • Provide information to supervisors and managers regarding processes within the assigned area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience operating a sit-down forklift.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Capability to research inventory, locate materials, and execute inventory transactions.
  • Ability to confidently conduct a defect walk back, familiarity with facility layout, and reconcile inventory tracking systems.
  • Ability to interpret pick lists and understand standard work concepts.
  • Ability to perform transactional data entries in accordance with standard work procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service experience, communication, multitasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in logistics or supply chain.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Robust analytical skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:
  • $18.50 per hour starting pay rate.
  • Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 3:30 pm.
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
