Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at PRISM Vision Group. As a key member of our clinical operations care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient interactions and functions, including scheduling, logistics, and revenue cycle claim scrubbing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate patient scheduling and logistics, ensuring optimal patient experience and office efficiency.
  • Execute daily workflows, including cancellation, missed visit, and tickler-recall deployment, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Verify insurance information, benefits, and referral requirements to ensure access based on third-party reimbursement criteria.
  • Obtain and document pertinent insurance verification information, including CPT codes, service descriptions, and reason for visit, to avoid denials and ensure financial reimbursement.
  • Provide patients with detailed benefit and authorization requirements, co-pay, deductible, and co-insurance self-pay responsibility, and explain charges, fees, and previous balances.
  • Reconcile all collections and transactions at the end of each shift, including initial cash funds, and secure all day-end monies in designated locked boxes.
  • Monitor and clear patient work queues daily to ensure data integrity, prompt billing, and minimal AR days.
  • Enter charge codes and number of units accurately and within one business day of services being rendered.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) experience in patient-facing healthcare or hospitality customer service.
  • Working knowledge of medical symptoms, signs, and anatomical systems to identify and differentiate type and urgency of medical need.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with bi-lingual skills a plus.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent mathematical and cash management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, co-workers, other departments, and patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work as an integral team member under minimal supervision in a fast-paced, complex environment.
Work Environment

Our office environment is controlled, with possible exposure to staff or patients with communicable diseases and blood-borne pathogens.
