Teaching Assistant Professor in Urban Studies

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant Professor in Urban Studies to join our faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in urban studies, including introductory courses, urban research methods, and urban theory, as well as an advanced course in US housing & property.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Geography, Urban Studies, or a related field, and a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. They will also have evidence of successful undergraduate teaching experience, including the ability to teach courses in urban redevelopment, housing, and urban research.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong research focus on contemporary issues in housing and urban change, and who are able to develop courses in urban land development. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the Urban Studies Program and to work effectively with diverse undergraduate student audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Geography, Urban Studies, or a related field
- Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research
- Evidence of successful undergraduate teaching experience
- Ability to teach courses in urban redevelopment, housing, and urban research
- Strong research focus on contemporary issues in housing and urban change
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in developing courses in urban land development
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse audiences
- Familiarity with mixed-methods research design
