Job Title: Teaching Assistant Professor in Composition and Disability Studies

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistant Professor in Composition and Disability Studies to join our dynamic team at the University of Pittsburgh. The successful candidate will contribute to our innovative Composition program, specializing in Disability Studies, and will also contribute to the growing interdisciplinary Disability Studies certificate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced Public and Professional Writing courses, with a focus on Disability Studies
  • Develop and teach new courses at the intersection of Composition and Disability Studies
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Disability Studies certificate
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create inclusive and welcoming environments for students of diverse backgrounds

Requirements:

  • PhD or terminal degree in English or a related field
  • Significant professional experience in Composition and Disability Studies
  • Excellent teaching and commitment to undergraduate courses
  • Excellent curricular development and program development skills
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in teaching and service
