POSITION SUMMARY

As a Manufacturing Equipment Technician, you will be integral to the operational success of our facility. Your primary responsibilities will include the upkeep and repair of various machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency. Your keen attention to detail, technical skills, and eagerness to understand the products and services offered by Garrett Container Systems, Inc. will enhance our manufacturing capabilities and drive productivity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on manufacturing machinery following established protocols to ensure peak performance and durability. This involves inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and replacing components as needed.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repair: Swiftly identify and resolve equipment failures and mechanical problems using a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques. Effectively troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to determine underlying issues and carry out necessary repairs.
  3. Preventive Maintenance: Formulate and execute preventive maintenance strategies to reduce unexpected downtime and equipment breakdowns. Perform inspections, tests, and adjustments to catch potential problems early.
  4. Equipment Calibration: Adjust and calibrate manufacturing equipment to ensure precision, consistency, and adherence to quality standards. Confirm that all machinery complies with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Keep comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and inventory of parts. Create reports to monitor equipment performance, maintenance timelines, and downtime metrics.
  6. Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations and guidelines during maintenance operations to avert accidents and hazardous situations. Proactively identify and rectify safety risks within the manufacturing environment to ensure a safe workplace.
  7. Collaboration: Work in conjunction with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance, to facilitate manufacturing operations and resolve equipment-related challenges. Communicate effectively with colleagues to share insights, coordinate maintenance efforts, and prioritize tasks.
  8. Ethics and Integrity: Treat colleagues with respect, uphold commitments, inspire trust, and maintain professionalism. Exemplify and promote the core values of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is highly desirable.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a maintenance technician role or similar position within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical skills and a proven ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices, tools, and software applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and ongoing improvement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and transport heavy machinery and components.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and under varying weather conditions, as well as exposure to manufacturing-related odors and noise levels.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range: 65K-85K
