Orthopedic Patient Experience Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Experience Representative I - Orthopedics to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a key member of our orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients and families receive exceptional care and service.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service:
- Provide positive and effective customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
- Respond to routine inquiries about hospital protocol, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors to resolve complex issues.
- Register new patients and collect necessary information.
- Communicate with referring providers and practices to handle complex patient issues.
Patient Registration/Admissions/Discharge:
- Collect and record patient demographics, insurance/payment, and referral information.
- Process patient registrations and discharges.
- Prepare rooms for examinations and provide assistance to patients according to established procedures.
- Transcribe code and patient treatment information into a billing system.
Scheduling:
- Schedule patient encounters and procedures to coordinate with and across providers, departments, and institutions.
- Communicate with clinicians and supervisors to maintain efficient daily patient/visitor flow.
Administration:
- Answer, screen, and route telephone calls.
- Record and forward messages and triage calls for urgent information or services.
- Maintain personal calendars for physician/supervisor(s).
- Assist in organizing and scheduling conferences, seminars, and other department-sponsored programs or events.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Basic customer service and computer skills.
- Ability to convey a positive demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and coworkers.
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
