Employment Type: Full Time

Compensation: In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. Final compensation will be influenced by various factors including relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is not available for remote work.

Additional Compensation: This role is eligible for an end-of-year bonus.

Position Responsibilities:

As a Research Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our e-commerce platform's growth and success. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough research on potential e-commerce marketplace partners to assess their organizational structures, leadership teams, and investor backgrounds.
  • Evaluating the credentials and histories of executive teams from prospective partner organizations to ensure alignment with our ethical and operational standards.
  • Identifying potential financial, reputational, and operational risks associated with new partnerships, including compliance with export controls and ITAR regulations.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive library of research data and continuously updating our due diligence processes to reflect the latest legal and regulatory changes.
  • Performing quarterly and annual research reviews and assessments of e-commerce marketplace consumers and vendors to uphold high standards of partnership and compliance.
  • Staying informed about new laws and regulations that may impact the due diligence process, particularly those related to export controls and international trade compliance.
  • Utilizing advanced internet research methods, effectively leveraging search engines, specialized databases, and digital libraries to gather actionable intelligence.
  • Expertly navigating data repositories, meticulously vetting documents, financial statements, and compliance records to identify discrepancies or red flags.
  • Preparing research documents with a strong focus on formatting, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Conducting online investigations and research, compiling information in an organized manner while adhering to information management system policies.
  • Managing and maintaining electronic document organization to ensure efficient information flow and accessibility within the team.
  • Communicating complex research findings clearly and effectively, collaborating across various teams to ensure a cohesive due diligence process.
  • Upholding high ethical standards and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Continuously learning and adapting to new developments and practices in the industry, with a strong desire to implement best practices in export compliance and ITAR-related due diligence.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree combined with three additional years of relevant experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance, requiring US Citizenship and agreement to participate in a background screen and credit check.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro for effective data management and communication of findings.
  • Familiarity with JIRA for task tracking and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the Directorate of Defense Trade Control's (DDTC) Defense Export Control and Compliance System (DECCS) and U.S. Department of Commerce EAR regulations.
