Mission:
We are seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) dedicated to the Force Tracking Mission Management Center. The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical systems and networks. This role involves implementing comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, performing detailed risk evaluations, and ensuring adherence to Department of Defense (DoD) regulations. The ISSO plays a crucial role in fortifying our operations against evolving cyber threats, thereby enhancing national defense capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cybersecurity Program Management: Safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through strategic planning, analysis, development, implementation, and enhancement of cybersecurity initiatives.
- Vulnerability and Risk Assessment: Evaluate information systems and communication networks to identify vulnerabilities and conduct thorough risk assessments.
- Security Inspections and Compliance: Conduct security inspections, assessments, and reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with DoD policies and standards.
- Continuous Review of Documentation: Support ongoing evaluations of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation to ensure operational standards are met.
- Cybersecurity Controls Implementation: Assist in the effective deployment of cybersecurity measures and respond to security incidents.
- Secure Configuration Management: Ensure the secure setup of information systems and network equipment to maintain security integrity.
- Risk Management Framework (RMF) Leadership: Lead or participate in RMF authorization efforts, ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Cybersecurity Advisory: Provide expert guidance on emerging cybersecurity technologies and issues.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill cybersecurity requirements.
Requirements:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with eligibility for SCI clearance.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience, including three (3) years in configuring cybersecurity controls and conducting audits.
- Understanding of DoD requirements under Risk Management Framework.
- Two (2) years of experience in creating technical documentation and reports.
- Completion of DISA Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) Administrator training.
- Knowledge of cyber doctrine and DoD Cybersecurity best practices.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- A PhD in a related field may substitute for an additional two (2) years of experience.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with dynamic tasking.
- Familiarity with network protocols and traffic flow.
- Experience in MS Windows, RHEL, and VMWare environments.
- Travel may be required.
- Experience with Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
- Certifications such as C|EH, CySA, MCSA, CCNA, COMPTIA Network+ are advantageous.
