The High Power Electromagnetics Division (HPEM) at SARA is in search of an exceptionally skilled, driven, and innovative Program Management Specialist to facilitate research and development initiatives and transition cutting-edge technologies to the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DoE), and their associated contractors. This role offers the chance to collaborate and grow alongside talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on both established and new programs.

Our compact team structure provides an opportunity for the selected candidate to engage, contribute, and collaborate across various disciplines from initial concept through to operational deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the direct management of cost, schedule, and tasking for multiple R&D HPEM programs in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
  • Serve as the technical liaison among clients, technical leads, and engineering teams to fulfill program objectives and adjust priorities as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within HPEM divisions to ensure timely achievement of program milestones.
  • Communicate program goals and directives effectively to all levels of staff, from technicians to senior engineers and scientists.
  • Ensure program execution aligns with customer requirements, adapting swiftly to evolving needs.
  • Engage with various SARA Division Directors to implement technical and managerial strategies across projects.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and partners, collaborating with technical leads to address scope changes and enhance capabilities.
  • Resolve issues in collaboration with teams and technical leads to ensure timely solutions.
  • Prepare and present financial and technical program status updates to senior personnel and clients.
  • Draft technical proposals, including system requirements, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Contribute insights for internal R&D strategic planning to identify business opportunities and growth avenues.
  • Align junior engineers with the overarching program mission.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
  • Over 8 years of program management experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team, both remotely and on-site.
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • May involve light physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Indoor working environment with moderate physical hazards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a knack for identifying and resolving issues while motivating team members.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with experience in system engineering and integration.
  • Familiarity with Costpoint accounting systems and government contract pricing software.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the year.
  • Experience in DoD government contracting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations.
