Position Overview

Galileo is in search of a seasoned leader to assume the role of Field Program Manager. As we expand our reach across Northern California, this position will be crucial in enhancing the experience for our Camp Directors and summer staff, ultimately ensuring an exceptional camp experience for families. The Field Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing camp operations and marketing efforts in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Camp Directors, providing professional development, constructive feedback, and cultivating a safe and inclusive environment that promotes joy, innovation, and fun.
  • Collaborate with the Area Director to develop operational plans for each camp site and train Camp Directors on logistics and operations.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to create training materials for Camp Directors, organize retreat logistics, and ensure coaching resources are accessible across sites.
  • Build a strong community within and beyond your area through networking, sharing insights, and participating in regional events to uphold the core aspects of Galileo camp culture.
  • Serve as a resource for team members in resolving complex issues, balancing customer satisfaction with program requirements.
  • Represent Camp Galileo in Northern California by supporting and managing marketing initiatives to enhance enrollment across the region.
  • Establish relationships within the community by engaging with school partners and customers, creating communications for schools, and representing Galileo at marketing events.
  • Monitor and respond to feedback from customers and staff through on-site observations to identify and address challenges and performance gaps.
  • Collaborate with the People Operations Team to recruit, onboard, train, and support our Camp Director team throughout the hiring process and pre-camp season.

Compensation

The anticipated compensation range for this Full-Time, exempt position is $70,000 - $85,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as location and professional experience.

Work Location

This hybrid role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and involves regular travel within the region to various camp locations. Employees in the San Francisco Bay area follow a hybrid office and work-from-home policy, spending two days per week at the office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in multi-site staff management and program/service management
  • Preferred experience in marketing and community communications
  • Minimum two years working in K-8 education; experience in camps or out-of-school programs is a plus
  • Minimum three years of team management experience
  • Experience in staff hiring, recruitment, training, development, and feedback provision
  • Ability to travel throughout the Greater Bay Area, including South Bay and SF Peninsula sites
