Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Hold a B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution.
    • Meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
      • Hold a valid teaching credential in either:
      • Multiple Subjects, General Kindergarten-Primary (K-3), General Elementary (K-8)
      • Standard Early Childhood (P-3), Standard Elementary (K-9), Specialist Instruction Credential in Early Childhood Education
    • OR must be eligible for a Emergency Transitional Kindergarten Permit:
      • Possession of a baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally-accredited college or university
      • Possession of a valid Child Development Teacher Permit or higher level
      • Satisfaction of one of the following:
        • a) 24 semester units of coursework in the field of Child Development (CD) or Early Childhood Education (ECE)
        • b) Possession of a baccalaureate or higher degree in CD, ECE, or similar major
        • c) Beginning 7/1/2023, have three or more years of full-time teaching experience in a transitional kindergarten setting, preschool age early childhood or child development program, or a combination of these experiences

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

The physical demands of this role include navigating school and classroom settings, accessing and utilizing technology, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-20 lbs. The mental demands include stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people. The environmental demands include working in a school and classroom environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions, adhering to KIPP's health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies' recommendations.

Classification

This is a full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar cycle, located at our school sites.
