About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Associate Director, Development to join our team at the American Cancer Society. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for leading a team of staff responsible for a revenue portfolio driven by priority relationships, account management, events, and fundraising activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of development staff in managing substantial account and revenue portfolios, ensuring achievement of significant revenue targets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage, recruit, steward, train, and manage relationships with volunteers and customers to successfully execute fundraising plans and achieve revenue goals.
  • Contribute to building the strategy as a member of the Market Leadership Team and ensure the implementation of best practices for revenue growth.
  • Monitor financial expenditures and progress to budget, taking appropriate measures to meet top and bottom-line goals.
  • Ensure team engagement with the community to create relevant, best-in-class experiences for priority constituents, including participants, teams, sponsors, cancer survivors, and caregivers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience, preferably in a multi-million-dollar organization, with past staff management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work successfully in a diverse team environment and recruit, train, and motivate community-based volunteers.
