MRI Technologist, Part-Time, Cancer Center

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a part-time MRI Technologist to join our team at Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Work ScheduleThis position requires a flexible schedule, with part-time hours on Thursday and Friday from 1:00pm-9:00pm, and Saturday from 7:30am-4:00pm.

Responsibilities- Review physician orders for accuracy and completeness
- Screen patients for MRI appropriateness and review contraindications
- Discuss findings with the physicist and radiologist as applicable
- Document changes in the electronic health record
- Ensure other resources, such as nursing, have been scheduled accordingly
- Interview patients, conduct patient screening, and obtain medical history
- Explain procedures and instruct patients on necessary requirements
- Administer intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate
- Perform MRI procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Utilize technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and efficiently
- Complete exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner
- Perform QC testing and report problems with MRI systems and workstations
- Maintain various data sets and archives
- Perform post-processing on MRI systems and remote workstations
- Respond to inquiries, calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate shift hand-off regarding workflow issues with equipment or pending exams
- Engage in equitable distribution of departmental workloads
- Actively participate in providing orientation and training for new hires and students
- Collaborate with other service lines to ensure smooth workflow and patient care
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Two years of MRI experience preferred
