MRI Technologist, PRN, Cancer Center

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist, PRN, to join our team at Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans, ensuring patient safety, and providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Review physician orders for accuracy and completeness
- Screen patients for MRI appropriateness and review contraindications
- Discuss findings with physicists and radiologists as needed
- Document changes in electronic health records
- Ensure other resources, such as nursing, are scheduled accordingly
- Interview patients, conduct screenings, and obtain medical history
- Explain procedures and instruct patients on necessary requirements
- Administer intravenous injections of contrast material as needed
- Perform MRI scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Assist physicians as needed in performing procedures
- Complete exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner
- Perform QC testing and report problems with MRI systems and workstations
- Maintain data sets and archives
- Participate in accreditation imaging requirements
- Perform post-processing on MRI systems and remote workstations
- Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Two years of MRI experience preferred
