Job Opportunity

CTR Group is seeking skilled CAD Designers and Engineering Technicians to join our team in the Boston, MA area. This is an immediate opening, and we are urgently hiring.

As a CAD Designer or Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for developing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings, working closely with design originators, and ensuring that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawings produced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop CAD drawings and models
  • Collaborate with design teams to prepare drawings or computer models of complex designs
  • Resolve manufacturing, assembly, installation, and operation issues through drawings
  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on design intent
  • Interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with credits in algebra, plane geometry, and drafting
  • Formal training in CAD, preferably with the latest AutoCAD technology
  • 2-3 years of experience with AutoCAD Software
  • 2-3 years of experience in shipboard mechanical, electrical, or structural design
  • Able to accurately obtain mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, etc.
  • Able to visualize and portray complex design features
  • Able to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments
  • Able to interpret and draft electrical wiring schematics
  • Strong communication skills and good PC skills
