Nitsch Engineering is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to contribute to our team in Massachusetts. As a key member of our structural team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing bridge structures, retaining walls, and other civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize structural and CAD software to create preliminary and final designs
  • Perform independent structural calculations and studies
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge and civil infrastructure projects
  • Provide construction administration services and perform bridge inspections
  • Prepare load rating calculations and reports for highway and rail bridges
  • Design and prepare documents for bridge structures, retaining walls, and other civil infrastructure projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts or ability to obtain MA PE within one year if licensed in another state
  • 5-10 years of relevant design experience
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with STAAD, MDX, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, and Bentley's LEAP Bridge Enterprise
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, building design codes, and MassDOT bridge design policies and guidelines
