About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team at Range Commercial Partners, Inc. in Columbus, OH. As a key member of our property management leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering departmental goals, objectives, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Work closely with the property management team to develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Customer Service: Maintain regular contact and build solid working relationships with property managers to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Initiative Implementation: Assist in implementing corporate and/or regional initiatives, providing management and leadership for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Energy Efficiency: Keep current on state-of-the-art energy technology related to building systems and regulations, providing recommendations to management and including short payback projects in the capital plan.
  • Life Safety and Environmental Procedures: Develop and maintain life safety, environmental, and emergency procedures, ensuring compliance with local, federal, and state building, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Leasing Support: Support the leasing effort by helping with leasing plans, participating in property tours with prospective tenants, and reviewing tenant space drawings.
  • Project Management: Ensure projects are well-defined and understood, developing effective project plans that meet cost, schedule, quality, functionality objectives, and compliance with business controls.
  • Capital Projects: Determine and recommend capital projects, acquiring bids, evaluating service and pricing of vendors, and developing product specifications and supplier sources.
  • Client Interface: Interface with clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate and supervise contractor and subcontractor activities, reviewing maintenance contracts, and ensuring compliance with Energy Star, Sustainability Program, Preferred Provider Program, Quality Assurance Program, Disaster Program, and Customer Service/Tenant Retention Program.
  • Special Projects: Handle special projects, reports, and assignments as requested by senior management.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school education and four or more years of experience supervising employees.
  • Technical Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roofing, drywall, carpentry, and HVAC troubleshooting.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and analytical skills, and ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Financial Knowledge: Knowledge of financial terms and principles, ability to understand operating budgets, and calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
