Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Consumer and Community Banking Payments team at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop creative software solutions, leveraging your expertise in Java/J2EE and REST APIs, Web Services, and event-driven Micro Services.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs and technical credentials.
  • Develop secure high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies, and contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements:
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, REST APIs, Web Services, and event-driven Micro Services, with experience in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and AWS Services.
  • Good understanding of databases like Oracle, Aurora Postgres, Dynamo DB, and Cassandra, and working proficiency in developmental toolsets like GIT/Bitbucket, JIRA, Maven.
  • Good experience in using Testing frameworks – Cucumber, Selenium, Junit, and practical experience with unit testing, including deep understanding of Mock Testing Frameworks like EasyMock or Mockito.
